While editing a discourse we use the devices of one-word substitution, summarization, linking words check the correctness of grammar, which includes punctuation, capitalization, the selection of words and correct its logical fallacies. Skilful editing lends coherence and cohesion to a disjointed write-up and gives it the required shape and length.
